Repeat Free Auction Trading Held in Kazakhstan for the Selection of Solar Power Plant (SPP) Construction Projects
On July 23, 2026, free auction trading was held for the selection of projects for the construction of a solar power plant (SPP) in the Southern zone of the Unified Power System of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Turkestan region) with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.
One of the conditions for the implementation of solar power plant projects under free auction trading is equipping them with electrical energy storage systems with a capacity of at least 30% of the facility's installed capacity and with an energy capacity ensuring the release of the specified power for at least four hours.
Two companies were admitted to participate in the auction trading. During the trading session, participants submitted two price bids, and the total volume of submitted applications amounted to 70 MW.
Based on the results of the auction trading, the winners were:
- LLP «DALA SOLAR». The project's installed capacity is 20 MW, with an auction price of 34.60 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT);
- LLP «SharDara Solar Energy». The project's installed capacity is 50 MW, with an auction price of 34.61 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT);
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, NCE «Qazaq Green» RES Association, and NCE «Kazakhstan Electric Power Association» took part as observers in the trading. The observers confirmed the transparency and correctness of the electronic trading system, operated by JSC «KOREM».
