Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan Agree on Water and Electricity Exchange
The parties discussed electricity exchange with Kyrgyzstan and water supply for southern Kazakhstan, reaching agreements on mutually beneficial terms for electricity and water exchange. Kyrgyzstan imported over 2 billion kWh of electricity in 2021 to conserve water in the Toktogul reservoir amid a water shortage.
