Half the City May Be Left Without Electricity if Uralsk TPP Is Not Repaired
A local deputy requested 1.74 billion tenge to complete repairs of Uralsk TPP's turbine units, warning that without funding the city risks tariff increases from purchasing costlier electricity elsewhere, loss of an advance payment already made to the contractor, and the manufacturer potentially selling the nearly finished turbine unit to another buyer.
