In November 2017, as part of the USAID Energy Future Program, the JSC KOREM representatives with representatives from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC KEGOC, Accounting and Finance center LLP visited Mexico and the United States to exchange best practices in renewable energy sources with Kazakhstan.

As part of visit to Mexico, meetings were held with representatives of the Ministry of Energy of Mexico, the system operator of Mexico CENACE, the Energy Regulatory Commission of Mexico and the Association of Wind and Solar Energy. Under these meetings, the model of the unified energy system of Mexico, the UES structure, percentage of introduction of clean energy capacity were presented (clean energy is specified capacity of all HPP, NPP, WPP, SPP types, insignificant share of thermal sources). Since 2013, Mexico has established auction institute for the construction of new energy facilities. For 2013-2017 period two auctions were held, Mexico achieved an increase in generation of clean energy by 1.9% and 3%. For information: in the framework of the third auction on November 17, 2017, ENEL Green Power offered a tariff for solar energy of 1.77 ¢ / kWh.

The Mexico best prctices in holding auctions allows us to visually demonstrate the use of RES facilities in the unified energy system of the country, the use of advanced technologies to reduce the cost of electricity, which further affects the final tariff for the consumer, as well as the application of clear regulations for the production of electricity from RES to enhance stability of the energy system.

During the visit to the US, meetings were held with representatives of the Colorado system operator (USA), the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and the Xcel Energy energy company.

During the meetings, there were presented practical measures to support the development of renewable energy in Colorado and the latest developments in RES.
