On October 9, 2018, the fourteenth auction was held for the Western Zone to select wind projects with a total capacity of 50 MW

According to item 51 of paragraph 5 of the Rules of organizing and holding auction, including qualification requirements for auction participants, the content and procedure for submitting applications, types of financial guarantee for participation in auction and conditions of their deposit and return, the procedure for summing up the results and determining the winner, the auction did not take place, as the number of participants who submitted applications to the trading system for sale was less than two.

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, non-governmental sector and international organizations participated in the Auction as observers.  Observers noted the full transparency of the electronic trading system implemented by the Auction organizer - JSC KOREM.

No winners defined according to the auctions results.

The next Auction is scheduled on 10/10/2018.

According to the schedule of auction for 2018 approved by the Order of the ME of the RK No. 65 dated February 22, 2018, the First International Auctions for selection of RE Projects are planned to be held from May 23 to June 7 and from October 3 to 18 in Kazakhstan. 

Auctions, being one of the planned steps on development of renewable energy sources, are aimed at selecting the most effective projects and forming competitive market prices for electric energy produced by RE facilities.

According to the schedule of auction, Auctions for a total 1,000 MW of installed capacity are planned to be held in 2018, divided by the following types of RE power plants:

Solar Power Plants - 290 MW;

Wind Power Plants - 620 MW;

Hydroelectric Power Plants - 75 MW;

Bio Power Plants - 15 MW.

The JSC KOREM is determined to be the auctions organizer.
