JSC «KOREM» took part in the VII International Congress «Hydropower of Central Asia and the Caspian Sea»
On June 21-22, 2023, Astana hosted the 7th Annual International Congress and Exhibition «Hydropower of Central Asia and the Caspian Sea» - a professional platform for dialogue, exchange of experience, search for solutions and consolidation of efforts of government and business representatives for the effective implementation of a number of projects for the construction and modernization of hydroelectric power plants in the region.
More than 200 participants from more than 15 countries of the world met on one platform: Central Asia, the Caspian region, Europe, China, Turkey, Canada and many others.
JSC «Kazakhstan Electric Energy and Capacity Market Operator» also took part in the international congress. Chairman of the Management Board of the Company - Kairat Rakhimov, moderated at the strategic plenary session of industry leaders: «Points of growth for the hydropower industry of the region: how to achieve carbon neutrality in the next 10 years?». Alexey Doronin - Managing Director for Strategy and Development – member of the Board of JSC «KOREM» as the main speaker at the plenary session told about the results, potential and plans for the development of renewable energy in Kazakhstan, about auctions for the selection of projects for the construction of renewable energy facilities. At the same time, the Managing Director informed about the five-year plan for the auction and elaborated on the auction auctions held this year. Summing up his speech, the speaker noted the readiness and openness of JSC «KOREM» for cooperation and invited potential participants to participate in the auction of renewable energy in Kazakhstan. Also, a number of meetings were held with potential investors, stakeholders.
The two-day congress was held productively with more than 40 informative speeches and exclusive information from top management, technical managers and other representatives of key market players, more than 30 promising investment projects, a round table and dozens of hours of business and informal communication.
