KOREM JSC held auctions with a capacity of 30 MW
The results of the auction for the construction of a SPP with a total installed capacity of 30 MW were announced
On June 16, 2025, the auctions were held to select renewable energy projects for the construction of a SPP for the West Zone of the Unified Power System (UPS) of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a total installed capacity of 30 MW.
5 companies were allowed to participate in the auction bidding, during the trading session participants submitted 55 price bids. The total volume of submitted bids amounted to 150 MW. The marginal auction price at auction bidding for selection of SPP projects in 2025 was 34.61 tg/kWh (excluding VAT).
During the trading session, the price range of bids received from the auction participants was from 34,50 to 14,72 tg/kWh (excluding VAT).
As a result of the auction bidding, Green Energy Industrial Company Aktobe LLP was identified as the winner, the installed capacity of the project is 50 MW, the auction price is 12,30 tg/kWh (excluding VAT).
According to the results of the auction bidding, the winner was determined to be «Vigor Holding» LLP, the installed capacity of the project - 30 MW, auction price - 14.72 tg/kWh (excluding VAT).
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kazakh association of regional environmental initiatives “ECOJER”, the Sustainable Energy Connectivity in Central Asia (SECCA), UNDP, the Kazakhstan Electric Power Association, the Kazakhstan Association of Oil-Gas and Energy Sector Organizations «KazEnergy». The observers confirmed the transparency of the electronic trading system of the auction organizer – KOREM JSC.
The next auctions for the selection of projects for the construction of SPP are scheduled for June 17, 2025, Southern Zone, with a total installed capacity of 20 MW.
