     On November 11, 2025, auction trading for renewable energy sources (RES) was held for all zones of the Unified Power System of the Republic of Kazakhstan to select projects for the construction of small hydropower plants with a total installed capacity of 200 MW.

Five companies were admitted to participate in the auction trading. During the trading session, participants submitted six price bids. The total capacity declared by the auction participants amounted to 18.9 MW.

The starting auction price for the selection of hydropower plant projects in 2025 was 41.23 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).

During the trading session, the price range of bids received from the auction participants varied from 41.23 to 41.22 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT).

Based on the results of the auction trading, the following companies were determined as winners:

• LLP “ГЭС Лепсы-2” – project installed capacity of 16,99 MW, auction price of 41.23 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT);
• LLP “MILIAR COMPANY” – project installed capacity of 12 MW, auction price of 41.22 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT);

 Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC “Eurasian Development Bank,” NCE “KazEnergy” (Kazakhstan Association of Oil, Gas and Energy Complex Organizations), NPO “Qazaq Green” (Renewable Energy Association), Kazakhstan Association of Regional Environmental Initiatives "ECOJER" and NCE “Atameken” (National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken”) participated in the auction trading as observers.
The observers noted the complete transparency of the electronic trading system operated by the auction organizer – JSC “KOREM.”

The next auction is scheduled for November 12, 2025, to select projects for the construction of bio power plants across all zones, with a total installed capacity of 20 MW.
