The auction for the construction of newly commissioned generating units with a flexible generation mode in the Southern Zone (Shymkent city), with a total installed capacity of 500 MW, held on December 15, 2025, was declared unsuccessful.

In accordance with Clause 86 of the Rules for Organizing and Conducting Auctions for the Construction of Newly Commissioned Generating Units with a Flexible Generation Mode (hereinafter – the Rules), the auction was closed by the auction organizer upon expiration of the trading session and declared unsuccessful due to an insufficient number of participants, as fewer than two participants submitted bids to the trading system.

Pursuant to Clause 45 of the Rules, in the event that an auction is declared unsuccessful for the reasons specified in Clauses 86, 115, and 117 of the Rules, the authorized body shall decide to conduct a repeated relevant auction within 30 (thirty) calendar days.

In order to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Rules, representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Akimat of Shymkent city, and the Association of Legal Entities “Kazakhstan Electric Power Association” participated in the auction as observers.
