On December 15, 2025, at 09:00, JSC “KOREM” held an auction on its trading platform for the construction of newly commissioned generating units with a flexible generation mode for the Northern Zone of the Unified Electric Power System of the Republic of Kazakhstan (Astana).

In accordance with the schedule for conducting auctions for the construction of newly commissioned generating units with a flexible generation mode, approved by Order of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan No. 237-н/қ dated June 13, 2025, the volume of the electric capacity readiness support service amounted to 500 MW, and the maximum auction price was set at KZT 16,299,800 per MW per month.

Two companies were admitted to participate in the auction. During the trading session, participants submitted a total of five price bids. The total volume of submitted bids amounted to 1,000 MW. As a result of the auction, the total volume of sold capacity amounted to 500 MW.

The price range of bids at the auction for the construction of newly commissioned generating units with a flexible generation mode decreased from KZT 16,299,800 to KZT 16,259,800 per MW per month (excluding VAT). The price reduction from the maximum auction price amounted to 0.25%.

The winner of the auction was:

• LLP “Green Era company” with a volume of 500 MW at a price of KZT 16,259,800 per MW per month (excluding VAT).

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, LLP “Settlement and Financial Center for Support of Renewable Energy Sources,” the Association of Legal Entities “Kazakhstan Electric Power Association,” and the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs “Atameken” participated in the auction as observers. The observers noted the full transparency of the electronic trading system of the auction organizer, JSC “KOREM”.
