In Kazakhstan, repeat auction bidding was held for the selection of projects to build new renewable energy facilities of the BioPP type with an installed capacity of 20 MW
On 10 February 2026 at 15:00, repeat auction bidding was held on the electronic trading platform of “KOREM” JSC to select projects for the construction of new renewable energy facilities of the BioPP type with an installed capacity of 20 MW (all zones).
On 12 November 2025, an auction was held to select projects for the construction of BioPPs; however, it was declared void due to fewer than two qualified bidders participating.
Therefore, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan decided to hold repeat auction bidding on 10 February 2026.
Following the bidding session, one company was admitted to participate in the repeat auction bidding. In accordance with the established requirements, the repeat auction bidding was declared void.
As observers of the repeat auction bidding representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Association of Renewable Energy Industry, and the Kazakhstan Electrical Power Association took part. The observers noted the transparency of the procedures and the effectiveness of the electronic trading system of the auction organizer, “KOREM” JSC.
