On November 20, 2023, from 16:00 on the trading platform of JSC «KOREM», centralized auctions of electric power were held in the West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions of the Western Zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan, taking into account the capacity towards the West Kazakhstan power hub  

The following initial parameters were provided to JSC «KOREM» by a Single buyer and a System operator for centralized trading of electric power:

• the projected demand for electric power in the West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions of the Western zone of the UES RK is 531 MW;
• the capacity of power transmission lines towards the West Kazakhstan power Hub is 130 MW.

The maximum tariff for the service for maintaining the availability of electric power is 1,065 thousand tenge/MW per month (excluding VAT).

4 energy-producing organizations took part in centralized auctions of electric capacity.

According to the results of centralized trading of electric capacity, the total volume of sold capacity amounted to 389 MW. The number of transactions concluded in the trading system was 4. The weighted average price according to the results of centralized trading of electric capacity was 1,065 thousand tenge/MW per month (excluding VAT).

The total volume of applications of energy-producing organizations submitted to the trading system amounted to 389 MW.

The unsatisfied volume of purchased capacity in the West Kazakhstan and Atyrau regions of the Western zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan amounted to 142 MW, due to a shortage of volume for the sale of services to maintain the availability of electric power.

Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the ALE «Kazakhstan Electric Power Association» took part as observers at the centralized auctions of electric power.
