Almasadam Satkaliyev signed a number of important documents on the implementation of renewable energy projects within the framework of the Astana International Forum

On the second day of the Astana International Forum, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan acted as a partner at the session «Rethinking Energy Security: Going beyond Simplified Solutions», where Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev, UAE Energy and Infrastructure Minister Suhail Al-Mazroui, EBRD President Odile Renaud-Basso, ADB President Masatsugu Asakawa took part as speakers, IRENA CEO Francesco La Camera and Baker Hughes CEO Lorenzo Simonieli, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

The session was dedicated to ensuring energy security, where the speakers shared their opinions and answered the moderator's questions.

Also, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan organized a side event on the theme «Development of renewable energy sources in the region: alternative solutions in ensuring energy security».

Almasadam Satkaliyev made a report on the development of renewable energy sources in Kazakhstan. The speakers of the session were Minister of Energy of Azerbaijan Parviz Shahbazov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Tajikistan to the Republic of Kazakhstan Khairullo Ibodzoda and Deputy Director of the Department for Interaction with Countries and Partnerships of IRENA Binu Partan.

After the presentations, the speakers answered the questions of the moderator - the Permanent Representative of the World Bank in Kazakhstan Andrey Mikhnev.

In addition, within the framework of the Forum, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Almasadam Satkaliyev signed roadmaps for the implementation of renewable energy projects:

- Calendar plan of events (Roadmap) within the framework of the project for the construction of a 1 GW wind farm with an electricity storage system in Zhambyl region jointly with ChinaPowerInternationalHolding limited (PRC);

- Calendar of events (Roadmap) within the framework of the project for the construction of a wind power plant with a capacity of up to 1 GW with an electricity storage system in Zhambyl and Kostanay regions together with Masdar (UAE).

These projects will contribute to the development of renewable energy in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as cooperation with leaders in the field of renewable energy.
