A 50 MW wind power plant has been launched in the Sarkansky district

The official launch of the 50 MW «Abai-2» wind power plant took place in the Sarkansky district. Over 19 billion tenge of private funds have been invested in the largest investment project of the district. In general, this year 3 more hydroelectric power plants with a total capacity of 23.5 MW are planned to be commissioned in the region, while today there are 14 renewable energy facilities in the region, their total capacity is 160 MW, the press service of the akim of the Zhetysu region reports.

According to the akimat of the Sarkansky district, the phased construction of a wind farm in Leninsky rural District was started in 2019. Special attention was paid to the location of the object. The flat area is characterized by the necessary average annual wind speed, which allows generating electricity all year round. Construction and installation works were fully completed in November 2022. Since that period, the volume of electricity produced by the WPP amounted to 23.767 thousand kW/hour.

In general, 16 wind turbines have been placed within the framework of the project implemented by «ENEVERSE KUNKUAT» LLP. The height of the windmasts is 100 meters, the size of the blades is 70 meters. Each such installation is capable of generating about 3.2 MW of electricity. The total capacity is 50 MW.

It is worth noting that a lot of work is being done in the Sarkansky district to develop "green" energy. Out of 5 hydroelectric power plants planned for commissioning in the area, 3 are already successfully operating today. The construction of the remaining 2 continues, the commissioning is scheduled for the current year. These are Verkhne-Baskansky HPPs-2 and 3 with a total capacity of 14.9 MW. Projects worth 11.7 billion tenge and the creation of 24 jobs are implemented by «Baskan Power» LLP. In addition, Koktal HPP-1 with a capacity of 8.6 MW and a cost of 6.3 billion tenge will be commissioned in the Kerbulak district.

In general, according to the regional Department of Energy and Housing and Communal Services, from 2021 to 2025, the commissioning of 13 renewable energy facilities (HPP – 10, WPP – 2, SES – 1) with a total capacity of 236.7 MW was planned in the Zhetysu region. Of these, 3 have already been commissioned, 3 more of the above will be commissioned this year, the remaining 7 with a total capacity of 132.5 MW are planned to be launched by 2025.

In total, the volume of own electricity production in the Zhetysu region is 479.2 million kWh, including the share of RES – 340.6 million kWh.
