Power Outage Investigation in Kazakhstan Completed
A special commission of Central Asian system operator representatives determined that the January 25 blackout was caused by outages in Uzbekistan's power system: a short circuit on the 500 kV line linking Syrdarya TPP and the "Tashkent" substation led to a 2,100 MW power surge.
