East Kazakhstan Region to Increase Share of Renewable Electricity Generation
East Kazakhstan region is actively developing renewable and alternative energy sources. Last year saw the commissioning of the 25 MW Turgusun HPP-1 and completion of six wind plants totaling 30 MW in Zharma district, with the renewable share of generation planned to rise from 1.9% to 6.25% by 2025.
