The management of JSC «KOREM» JSC took part in the III International Business Festival «Qazaq Green Fest – 2024»

On May 30-31, 2024, the III International Business Festival «Qazaq Green Fest – 2024” was held in Borovoye, dedicated to the development of «green» energy in Kazakhstan. The annual festival organized by the Association of Renewable Energy Sources «Qazaq Green» together with the Kazakhstan Association of Electric Power Industry with the support of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was held under the slogan «Taking on the challenges of the present - together into a sustainable future».

The two-day festival was held in the format of an open dialogue, where participants of the RES and electric power industry market discussed the state and prospects for the development of renewable energy in Kazakhstan.

Chairman of the Management Board of JSC «Kazakhstan Electricity and Power market operator» Aidos Daribayev spoke at two panel sessions: «Single buyer – operation of electric power and RES facilities in a new market model and in a balancing electricity market» and «Prospects for the development of bilateral RES contracts and balancing issues». Aidos Daribayev introduced the participants of the festival to a new model of the electricity market based on the mechanism of a single electricity buyer and a balancing electricity market in real time.

Recall that by Order of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated June 06, 2023 No. 211 of JSC «KOREM» is determined by the settlement center of the balancing market, responsible for the purchase and sale of balancing electricity and negative imbalances in the balancing electricity market in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the field of electric power.

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, UNDP, EBRD in the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ambassadors of Italy and Great Britain in Kazakhstan, as well as key foreign and Kazakhstani participants in the electric energy market.
