The rapid development of technologies in the renewable energy sector, coupled with the growing number of investors willing to construct RES, requires introduction of mechanism capable to ensure fair and competitive selection of the most effective projects, projects with the best technological solutions and the lowest capital costs. As of today, the global trend that meets these requirements is the auctions mechanism aimed at selection of renewable energy projects.

The twentieth auction for selection of RES projects was held for the Southern zone of Kazakhstan
28 applications were received from 20 companies, with a single project capacity from 10.2 to 100 MW. The total volume of proposed capacity was 1270,199 MW. The starting price for the Auction was 32 KZT/kWh. Following the 3-hour trading session results, price range proposed in Participant's bids was from 18.6 KZT/kWh to 32 KZT/kWh.

According to item 51 of paragrap of the Rules of organizing and holding auction, including qualification requirements for auction participants, the content and procedure for submitting applications, types of financial guarantee for participation in auction and conditions of their deposit and return, the procedure for summing up the results and determining the winner, the auction did not take place, as the total volume of installed capacity of applications for participation in auction for sales was less than 130% of the demand for installed capacity.

5 applications were received from 5 companies, with a single project capacity from 13.88 to 26 MW. The total volume of proposed capacity was 101,08 MW. The starting price for the Auction was 16,71 KZT/kWh. Following the 3-hour trading session results, price range proposed in Participant's bids was from 14.85 KZT/kWh to 16.71 KZT/kWh.

Best practices in renewable energy and energy efficiency in Central Asia were the focus of a two-day expert workshop that ended with a site visit to a waste heat incineration plant today in Vienna. The workshop was organized by the Office of the Co-ordinator of OSCE Economic and Environmental Activities in close co-operation with the Joint Research Centre of the European Union.

On July 11, 2017, the Head of State signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Amendments and Additions to Certain Legislative Acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Electric Energy Industry". These Amendments affected provisions of the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Support of Renewable Energy Sources Use".

Уважаемые субъекты рынка электрической энергии!
Информируем Вас что, начиная с 2018 года АО «КОРЭМ» при общественном объединении «Локальный профессиональный союз работников акционерного общества «КОРЭМ» (далее - Профсоюз АО «КОРЭМ») планирует проводить курсы повышения квалификации для всех заинтересованных субъектов рынка электрической энергии Казахстана.
Анализ функционирования рынка электрической энергии Казахстана и проводимых реформ, в частности ввод рынка возобновляемых источников энергии с 2018 года, запуск рынка электрической мощности с проведением первых торгов в конце 2018 года, планируемый ввод балансирующего рынка в режиме реального времени с 2019 года, окончание срока действия предельных тарифов на электрическую энергию энергопроизводящих организаций (тариф в обмен на инвестиции) и переход на новый предельный тариф максимум до 2018 года включительно, показывает необходимость проведения разъяснительной работы законодательных и нормативно-правовых актов в сфере электроэнергетики.
