Prospects for cooperation with the USAID Central Asia regional program
Today, representatives of the Ministry of energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC «KEGOC», LLP «FSC of RE» and JSC «KOREM» met with representatives of the U.S. Embassy and the USAID Central Asia regional program on partnership and interaction in the electricity sector.
Representatives of the U.S. Embassy and the USAID Central Asia regional program were shown the electronic trading platform of JSC «KOREM» for conducting auctions for the selection of renewable energy projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as the results of auctions for 2018-2019. It should be noted that the launch of auctions for the selection of renewable energy projects in the Republic of Kazakhstan was carried out with the direct support of the USAID Central Asia regional program, within the framework of the project "Power the Future".
During the negotiations, the interim results of joint work with the USAID Central Asia program, the results achieved in the projects "Power the Future" and "Central Asia Regional Electricity Market" (CAREM), also discussed the main directions of future cooperation with the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) and the United States Energy Association (USEA), as part of the expansion of consulting and technical support for the USAID Central Asia program for the Republic of Kazakhstan and Central Asian countries.
