On July 13, 2022, auctions were held on the trading system of JSC "KOREM" for the construction of newly commissioned generating units with maneuverable generation mode at a site located in the Kyzylorda region with a volume of 240 MW.

On behalf of the Head of State K.K. Tokayev, in 2021 the mechanism of guaranteed return of investments directed to the implementation of projects for the construction of maneuverable generation was approved. The measures taken made it possible to identify the first sites and prepare them to attract potential investors. According to the schedule of auctions for the construction of newly commissioned generating units with maneuverable generation mode, the first auction was held at a site located in the Kyzylorda region. The installed capacity of the future power plant is set at 240 MW.

Two companies took part in the auction.

According to the results of the auction, the total volume of the selected capacity was 240 MW. The Turkish company "Aksa Energy Uretim Anonymous Shirketi" was recognized as the winner of the auction.

During the trading session, the price range of bids received from auction participants ranged from 11,612,100 to 11,591,000 tenge/MW*month (excluding VAT).

The planned construction period of the power plant will be 3 years. The expected commissioning of the Kyzylorda combined cycle gas plant is 2025.
