On June 13, 2023, the formed group of experts on information and explanatory work on the introduction of a model of a Single buyer and a balancing electricity market in real time will hold the final meeting of the explanatory campaign in Astana.

Recall that according to the amendments and additions to the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On Electric Power Industry», a new model of a Single buyer and a balancing electricity market in real time is being introduced from July 1 of this year.

By the Order of the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Single buyer of electric energy carrying out the centralized purchase and centralized sale of planned volumes of electric energy was determined by LLP «Settlement and Financial Center for Support of Renewable Energy Sources», and the settlement center of the balancing market carrying out the centralized purchase and sale of balancing electricity and negative imbalances in the balancing electricity market was determined by JSC «Kazakhstan electric energy and capacity market operator».

In order to inform the subjects of the wholesale electricity market, as well as explain the new model of the electric energy market, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan with the participation of JSC «KEGOC», JSC «KOREM» and LLP «Settlement and Financial Center for Support of Renewable Energy sources» in the period from May 29 to June 13 of this year, a field trip was planned and conducted explanatory campaign to the regions of the country.

According to the Schedule of explanatory events approved by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan on the upcoming introduction of a Single Buyer model and a balancing electricity market in real time, the final meeting will be held in the capital of Kazakhstan.

Time of the meeting: from 10.00 to 16.00.
