On November 14, 2023, auctions were held for the selection of renewable energy wind power station projects for the Northern Zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a total installed capacity of 100 MW.

The maximum auction price approved by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan during the auction for the selection of wind farm projects in 2023 was 22.68 tg/kWh (excluding VAT).

11 companies were allowed to participate in the auction, 15 price offers were submitted by the participants during the trading session. The total volume of applications submitted was 450 MW.

There is a decrease in the price range of applications from 22.68 to 13.49 tg/kWh (excluding VAT). The decrease in the price from the maximum auction price for the selection of projects for the construction of wind farms was 41%.

According to the results of the auction, the winner was determined by the company - LLP «Argest», the installed capacity of the project is 100 MW, the auction price is 13.49 tg/kWh (without VAT). The project is planned to be placed in the Aktobe region.

Representatives participated as observers: Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, NCE «Atameken», ALE «Kazakhstan Electric Power Association», ALE RES Association «Qazaq Green», ALE «KAZENERGY», EBRD. Observers note the full transparency of the electronic trading system of the auction organizer – JSC «KOREM».

The next auction is scheduled for November 15, 2023 for the selection of wind power station projects with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.
