During his working trip to China, the Head of State held a meeting with the chairman of the Board of State Power Investment Corporation Qian Zhimin, the press service of Akorda reports.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev discussed the implementation of projects in the field of renewable energy sources. State Power Investment Corporation, one of the largest Chinese energy companies, actively invests in green energy projects in Kazakhstan.

The President supported the company's initiative to build a large-scale wind power plant with a capacity of 1 GW in Zhambyl region. The Head of State was informed about the intention of State Power Investment Corporation to launch the production of equipment for wind power plants in Kazakhstan.

In turn, Qian Zhimin said that as part of social responsibility, his company plans to build a thermal power plant with a capacity of up to 200 GCAL in the south of Kazakhstan.
