A NEW RECORD PRICE WAS FIXED FOLLOWING THE RESULTS OF THE FINAL AUCTION OF 2022
On November 29, the final auction in 2022 for renewable energy for the northern zone of the UEN of the Republic of Kazakhstan for the selection of wind power plants with a total installed capacity of 100 MW was held.
5 companies took part in the auction, 11 price proposals were submitted by the participants during the trading session, the unit capacity of the projects was 100 MW. The total volume of applications submitted was 500 MW. The maximum auction price during the auction for the selection of wind farm projects in 2022 was 21.53 tg/kWh (excluding VAT). During the trading session, the price range of bids received from auction participants ranged from 16 to 12.39 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT).
According to the results of the auction, the winner is determined:
- «Mezgilder Qushteri» LLP (Hong Kong (China) - Kazakhstan) the installed capacity of the project is 100 MW, the auction price is 12.39 tg/kWh (without VAT). The project is planned to be placed in the Ulytau region near the city of Zhezkazgan.
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy, the Renewable Energy Association «Qazaq Green», the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and «KAZENERGY» participated as observers. Observers note the full transparency of the electronic trading system of the auction organizer – JSC «KOREM».
According to the results of the final auction for renewable energy, a record decrease in the auction price was recorded, which amounted to 42.5%, which is a new maximum indicator of a record price decrease.
