On behalf of the Head of State K.K. Tokayev, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan is conducting a large-scale technological audit of power plants throughout the country

In order to implement the instructions, on December 5, 2022, as part of the technical audit, a visit to Ekibastuz GRES-1 was carried out. This work is carried out by order of the Ministry of Energy with the support of the World Bank.

The team included local experts and coordinators of JSC «KOREM», an international consultant (KPMG).

During the visit to the power plants, an inspection was carried out

- main equipment;

- heat transfer workshops;

- boiler room;

- turbine;

- electrical shop.

During the meeting with the managers and specialists of the power plant services, the experts discussed the technical condition of the existing power equipment.

In the coming days, experts will also visit Ekibastuz GRES-2, GRES in Aksu and energy facilities of Pavlodar.

Based on the results of the technical audit, the main proposals and recommendations for the effective modernization and reconstruction of energy source equipment will be prepared
