The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a working meeting with the participation of subjects of the wholesale electricity market, representatives of NCE «Atameken», Kazakhstan Electric Power Association, Alliance Energoservice, Kazakhstan Association of Energy Supply Organizations, the Agency for Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Committee for Regulation of Natural Monopolies of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the press service of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the functioning of a Single Electricity Buyer and a Balancing electricity market.

The participants also considered the proposals of the Agency for the Protection and Development of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan, raised issues of targeted support for energy supply companies serving the population and issues of payment of imbalances for deviations from the planned schedule of electricity consumption in the balancing market.

The Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan informed market participants about the elaboration of all proposals jointly with interested parties and the development of consolidated solutions.
