On November 18, 2024, auctions were held to select projects for the construction of wind power plants for the Northern Zone of the UES of the Republic of Kazakhstan with a total installed capacity of 100 MW.

7 companies were allowed to participate in the auction, and 34 price offers were submitted by the participants during the trading session. The total volume of applications submitted was 600 MW.

The maximum auction price was 22.68 tenge/kWh (excluding VAT). There is a decrease in the price range of applications from 22.68 to 11.83 tg/kWh (excluding VAT). The price reduction from the maximum auction price for the selection of projects to build WPP amounted to 47.8%.

According to the results of the auction, the winner was determined by the company - LLP «Kaindy Energy», the installed capacity of the project is 100 MW, the auction price is 11.83 tg/kWh (excluding VAT). The project is planned to be placed in Kostanay region. 

Representatives of the Kazakhstan’s Energy Ministry, NCE of Kazakhstan «Atameken», the Asian Development Bank and USAID took part as observers.
