The 3rd meeting of the Ministers of Energy of the member States of the Organization of Turkic States was held in Budapest
On March 30, 2023, the 3rd meeting of the Ministers of Energy of the member States of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) was held in Budapest under the chairmanship of the Republic of Hungary.
The meeting was attended by Vice-Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Hasenov, Minister of Energy of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Parviz Shahbazov, Acting Minister of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic – Taalaibek Ibrayev, Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of the Republic of Turkey – Fatih Donmez, Minister of Foreign Economic Relations and Foreign Affairs of Hungary – Peter Siyarto, First Deputy Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan – Azim Akhmedkhadzhayev, also Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States – Kuanychbek Omuraliev.
The heads of the delegation discussed the priority directions of sustainable development of the energy industries of the member States and observers of the OTS.
According to Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Khasenov, Kazakhstan is actively developing bilateral cooperation with all participating countries and observers of the OTS.
The Vice Minister also reported on the recent enactment of a law providing for the introduction of a new mechanism – an improved model Contract, which offers a number of preferences for complex projects, both at sea and on land, as one of the mechanisms aimed at improving the investment climate for projects in the field of subsoil use in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Also, the member States and observers of the OTG were invited to participate in the development of new fields.
In addition, priorities for the development of petrochemistry with the production of products with high added value, hydrogen, nuclear energy and renewable energy were announced.
During the third meeting of the Ministers of Energy of the OTS member states, the parties discussed the work done on the implementation of the OTS Energy Cooperation Program (2023-2027) and the action plan for its implementation.
The parties outlined further plans for the implementation of training programs for Member States and observers in the field of energy, the creation of an International hydrogen Consortium aimed at the production of hydrogen, its storage and the development of new technologies for transportation.
Within the framework of the meeting, bilateral meetings were also held with the ministers of Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Turkey and Hungary.
