Auction Trading Held in Kazakhstan for the Selection of Hydroelectric Power Plant (HPP) Construction Projects
On September 4, 2026, auction trading was held for the selection of hydroelectric power plant (HPP) construction projects, covering all zones of the Unified Energy System of the Republic of Kazakhstan, with a total installed capacity of 50 MW.
4 companies were admitted to participate in the auction trading. During the trading session, participants submitted 4 price offers, with the total volume of submitted applications amounting to 9.711 MW.
Based on the results of the auction trading, the following were declared winners:
- Altay Hydro LLP. The installed capacity of the project is 2.711 MW, the auction price is 41.19 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT);
- Orbulaq Energy LLP. The installed capacity of the project is 3.6 MW, the auction price is 41.20 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT);
- Kelesgidrostroy LLP. The installed capacity of the project is 2 MW, the auction price is 41.21 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT);
- EUROPA SOLAR LLP. The installed capacity of the project is 1.4 MW, the auction price is 41.23 KZT/kWh (excluding VAT);
Representatives of the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, RFC for RES Support LLP, and the Kazakhstan Electric Power Association Union of Legal Entities took part in the trading as observers. The observers confirmed the transparency and correctness of the electronic trading system operated by KOREM JSC.
